Our Company contributes in a significant manner to the fast-growing green technology in the industrial and post-consumer waste recycling industry. With innovative process technology, negative-cost recycled material is converted to value-added final or re-usable crafted consumer products. The vision of Kalhari is to become a leader in the clean and green recycling technology. The Company is committed to creating more employment opportunities and finding new and productive ways to utilize the annual scrap-tire generation and waste-tire stockpiles. In the world today all types of waste are considered as valuable resources. Examples from many developing countries show that people are earning a living from the collection of waste rubber, plastics, paper and cardboard boxes to name a few.

A number of organizations are working with community-based organizations in Asia to come up with sound business ventures in waste collection. Communities are identifying the types of waste that has potential to bring them a livelihood.
As a Sri Lankan enterprise, the Company plans on continuing towards it’s goal of becoming a leader in the recycling business and establishing itself as a model for new investors making our material available for export and domestic use.

The Kalhari Group was incorporated in the year 2003 with the objective of exporting waste plastic, rubber, steel dust etc., in the correct quantities according to the specific requirements of its international & local clients. It believes in the spiritual business of winning hearts and building strategic business partnerships with the customers. Kalhari conducts its operations with honesty, integrity and openness and with due respect for the human rights and interests of their employees. We are committed to establishing mutually beneficial relations with our suppliers, customers and business partners. The Group Managing Director / Proprietor of the Kalhari Group of companies is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Plastics and Rubber of Sri Lanka and is qualified as a Master of Business Administration, with 25 years of experience in the manufacture of rubber based footwear and tyres and in the waste recycling industries.
